Christmas Spectacular 2023
Costume Information

*ALL COSTUMED CAST MEMBERS on STAGE.  Please make sure you prepare for the stage from head to toe.  Make-up, hair, shoes, etc.  Remember that costume changes are quick so plan accordingly.  LAYERS are good and be prepared to do hair and makeup changes quickly.

GENERAL
BAND | BACKSTAGE HELP 
Dress Rehearsals and All Performances you will need to wear ALL-BLACK

BACKSTAGE CHOIR | ORCHESTRA 
Black and jeans during the PERFORMANCES 

COSTUME APPROVAL for ONSTAGE

ALL COSTUMES must be approved by JILL DYER Costume Team.

  • You may begin bringing your costumes on SUNDAY EVENINGS and or show a picture of you in the costume.

  • The costume team may ask you to add a color, take away a color, or try again.  Please know that this is not personal, but they have the whole stage and production in mind as they approve costumes. 

  • FINAL APPROVAL DATE is SUNDAY EVENING, NOVEMBER 12th.  Please try to bring prior to this date so we can have time to change any costumes if needed.

SCENE 1

 WHAT - NEW YORK CITY STREET CLOTHES

 WHO – ONSTAGE CHOIR/MOVEMENT/DANCE

 

WINTER ATTIRE in SOLID COLORS (COLD NOT FREEZING!!!!)

  • Those of you in JOYFUL, JOYFUL must wear your costume under you choir robe.

  • You are on the streets of NEW YORK, Modern Day.  It is COLD outside but not FREEZING. 

  • Vests, scarves, hats, and jackets are all great ideas and layers are helpful.

  • You can add accessories

  • Do NOT wear anything immodest including clothing that is too tight, see-through, low cut, or too short.

  • Each of you in SCENE #1 has SPECIFICALLY ASSIGNED parts for the street scene.  CF Costume team will provide most, if not all, of the costumes for the following assignments. More details to come

    • Construction

    • Fireman/EMT

    • Vendors

    • Mascots

    • Minions

    • Police Officer

    • Security

SCENE 3

WHAT - CONCERT ATTIRE

WHO – ONSTAGE CHOIR/MOVEMENT/DANCE

 

BLACK TOP and DARK DENIM JEANS/PANTS

  • TOP should be LONG SLEEVE SOLID BLACK (NO SEE-THROUGH sleeves please)

  • DENIM cannot have holes or rips and should be DARKER in color

  • SHOES should be ALL BLACK

  • JEWELRY should be SMALL and in SILVER or GOLD

SCENE 4

WHAT – BIBLICAL SYMPHONY of CHRISTMAS

WHO – BIBLICAL TOWNSPEOPLE, SHEPHARD, ENTOURAGE

 

BIBLICAL TOWNSPERSON & SHEPHERDS

     You will PROVIDE:

  • sandals in brown or black (No flip flops and no white or light colors)

  • clothes for underneath gown (shorts, leggings, shirt)

    • We do not want to see these clothes on stage.  They will be hidden by your gown.

  • biblical style loose gown

  • outer robe (if one is paired with your gown)

  • head covering

  • waist tie/rope-only if needed to adjust length of the gown.

 

Biblical TIPS

  • No JEWELRY or WATCHES

  • NO GLASSES on STAGE (you can request a glasses pouch to wear with your costumes to have a place for your glasses on stage)

  • Biblical costumes should not be in the BRIGHT and BOLD color palette.

  • If you have your own biblical costume, it must be approved before wearing on stage.  

 

ENTOURAGE for the KINGS

     You will PROVIDE:

  • Sandals if not given with your entourage costume

  • Clothes for underneath gown (shorts, leggings, shirt)

    • We do not want to see these clothes on stage.  They will be hidden by your costume.

    • Jewelry is appropriate for these costumes but no watches or glasses on stage.
